Debate: Should we keep old tech running or let it rest?

Had a chat with a guy named Dave at the thrift store last week. He swears his 1998 Palm Pilot is still his daily driver for notes and calls it more reliable than his phone. I argued it's just clutter taking up space, but he said the thing still does 90% of what he needs. So which side are you on, keep these relics alive or donate them to the e-waste bin?

lmao Dave sounds like the kinda guy who still has a landline too. "90% of what he needs" - that 10% must be stuff like sending an email or looking at a map. I bet his Palm Pilot is the only thing in his life that hasn't tried to update itself at 3am and brick itself. Keep that fossil running, Dave, you do you.

oh man @olivias88 i gotta push back a little here haha. I know a guy like Dave and honestly his Palm Pilot is PROBABLY more reliable than my phone that crashes twice a week. The whole "you do you" thing is fine but I really think there's something to keeping tech that actually WORKS for you instead of chasing every update. Sure that 10% might be a headache sometimes but the 90% of what he needs never fails him. Not everyone wants or needs their phone to be a mini computer that demands attention 24/7.
