Paid $150 for a film scanner that ruined my first 10 rolls

Bought one of those cheap negative scanners off Amazon thinking it would save me money over lab scans. Big mistake. Scratched the hell out of my negatives, weird color casts on every frame, and the dust spots were impossible to clean off in editing. Ended up sending the rolls to a lab anyway for proper scans. Anyone else get burned by a budget scanner?

Sounds like user error honestly, I've had nothing but good luck with cheap scanners.

@hannahs71 - I had the same issue until I switched to a different brand. The cheap one from Amazon that people rave about actually worked great for me. Just needed to play with the settings a bit to match my paper.
