My uncle told me to always bracket my shots with my old Pentax, and I finally saw why when I got a perfect shot of a foggy bridge in Portland after three rolls of misses.

He said to shoot the same scene at f/8, f/11, and f/16, and the middle one gave me the depth and mood I was after for weeks.

Three whole rolls of film just to call it a crutch. That's some expensive bad planning right there.

Bracketing is just a crutch for bad planning.
