My Pentax K1000 shutter jammed right at the county fair

I was halfway through a roll of Portra 400 trying to get a shot of the Ferris wheel lights at dusk. The advance lever just locked up completely, and the mirror stayed up. I ended up finishing the roll on my phone, which felt like a total defeat. Has anyone fixed a shutter jam on one of these old workhorses themselves?

My old K1000 jammed in a dusty attic last year.

Man, that's a real shame. Those old Pentax bodies are built like tanks, but dust and grime will get anything eventually. The cloth shutter curtain on those can get sticky if it sits. I had to gently work mine free with some isopropyl on a swab. Might just need a good cleaning.
