Hot take: ran the same roll of Tri-X through two different cameras and the difference was wild

I shot the same 36 exposures on a beat up Nikon FM from 1982 and then a newer F100 last month. The FM shots had this weird glow to them, must be the old lens coatings or maybe light leaks from the worn foam. The F100 frames were sharp and clean but kind of boring, almost too perfect. It took me comparing a photo of my dog at the park from each camera to really see it. The older camera gave the shot a softness that made the grass and shadows look like a painting from the 70s. Has anyone else noticed a huge difference between old and newer bodies with the same film stock?

Check the foam light seals on that FM, they're probably shot.

Right? My Mamiya RB67 gave my portraits this dusty pink glow.
