Dad asked me why I still use a paper road atlas instead of GPS
We were driving to my uncle's place near Asheville last weekend and my phone died halfway there. I pulled out this beat up atlas I've had since 2008. My dad laughed and said why dont you just get a charger. But I told him I actually like flipping through the pages and seeing the whole route at once. GPS tells you turn by turn but it doesnt show you the little back roads or the state parks along the way. Ive memorized like 3 different routes to my brothers house just from using that thing. Has anyone else stuck with paper maps even though its slower?

Isnt it funny how we keep reaching for the slower tools because they actually let us think for ourselves? Feels like the whole world is so focused on saving time that we forgot what we're saving it for.
