That new wireless contact I tried keeps false alarming on metal doors
Swapped out a full set of contacts on a storefront in Cleveland, used the brand new wireless style that the rep pushed hard. They looked great on paper but every time the sun hits that steel frame around 2 PM, boom, false alarm. Three callbacks in one week, customer is about to fire us. Anyone else run into these newer units acting up on commercial hollow metal, or did I just grab a bad batch from 2024?

Is three callbacks in one week really a "brand new tech is broken" problem, or is that just what happens when you put any contact on a steel frame that gets baked by the sun every afternoon? I have seen older hardwired contacts do the same thing when the gap shifts with heat, and the fix was just adjusting the spacing or the magnet position. Before blaming the whole 2024 batch, have you watched one of them during that 2 PM window to see if it is the sun or maybe a loose mount? A bad batch would usually fail in a bunch of spots, not only on the one wall that turns into an oven. It might be worth putting a plain magnet contact on one door as a test for a few days before you call the rep.
