Stop mounting wireless sensors with double sided tape on brick

I keep seeing guys stick Honeywell door sensors on brick with the factory tape. Last month I had to go back to a job in Columbus because six of them had fallen off after two weeks. Brick is porous, the dust never fully comes off, and that tape loses grip in humidity every time. Spend the extra 5 minutes per sensor and drill for a proper mount or at least use a construction adhesive. Has anyone else had to redo a whole batch of sensors because of this?

Absolutely, this drives me crazy. I helped my brother do a full reinstall of his home system last summer and half the sensors had popped off the brick wall in his garage after a few hot, humid weeks. We ended up using construction adhesive on all of them the second time around and they haven't budged since. People don't realize that factory tape is basically useless on anything rough like brick.
