Church basement install in Tulsa turned into a comedy of errors

Last month I got a call to put in a basic panel at a small church in Tulsa. The pastor said the old system was fine but they wanted a keypad in a better spot. I show up and the basement where the panel lives is packed shoulder to shoulder with youth group props. There was a giant cardboard ark taking up half the room and a flock of fake sheep under the wiring table. I tripped over a foam donkey twice before I even opened my screwdriver. The panel was in the worst corner, behind a stack of old hymnals, and I had to squeeze in like a contortionist to get to the terminals. At one point I knocked over a bucket of glitter glue and it went everywhere, including in my hair. I finished the job but now I always ask what's in the room before I commit to a location. Has anyone else had a weird obstacle at a job site that nearly ruined your day?

Wait, a bucket of glitter glue just sitting out in a church basement where people walk? That stuff gets everywhere and never comes out, I still find glitter in my truck from last Christmas. I'm honestly impressed you didn't just walk out right then and there, because glitter in the hair is a whole different level of bad day. Were the fake sheep at least facing the same direction, or was that chaos too? I've had to move a treadmill and a pile of old car tires before, but nothing that involved craft supplies and biblical animals. You're a stronger person than me for sticking it out, I would have been tempted to charge extra for the glitter hazard fee.
