Serious question, who claims crispy tofu is impossible in an air fryer?

I just did it with a cornstarch coat and it turned out better than pan-frying. Save your oil and try this method.

Oh man, my friend Sam tried to make some last month and it was a total disaster. He just tossed plain cubes in there, no coating or anything. They came out looking like little beige sponges, zero crunch. We still give him a hard time about his "soggy air fryer experiment.
