I finally gave frozen french fries a real shot in the air fryer
For months, my oven-baked fries came out soggy or burnt, no matter what I did. Last week, I followed a tip to soak the frozen fries in cold water for 10 minutes, pat them dry, then air fry at 400 degrees for 15 minutes, shaking halfway. The difference was HUGE, they were actually crispy like restaurant ones. I think the quick soak pulls out extra starch. Has anyone else found a simple prep step that made a frozen food way better in the air fryer?

Oh interesting, but that's for fresh potatoes. Frozen fries are already blanched, so the soak might just make them wet. The real trick is just making sure they're totally dry before they go in.

That soak trick shows how small steps can fix big problems.

Wait, you mean the thing where you soak a dish overnight? That's not a small step, that's just avoiding the problem. You still have to scrub it in the morning.
