That time at a coffee shop in Austin made me rethink AI scheduling

I was waiting for my latte at this place on South Congress last month and watched the barista juggle three apps to manage orders, shifts, and inventory. It hit me that we keep building AI to handle big data problems but ignore small daily chaos like that. I started playing with a tiny AI script that auto-adjusts my team's break times based on real time foot traffic patterns. After two weeks, we cut wait times by about 15% just from that one tweak. Has anyone else found a simple, low cost AI fix for a boring everyday problem like shift schedules?

Why overcomplicate break schedules with AI when a simple whiteboard and a timer already works fine? Seems like overkill for a 15% gain that could also come from just paying attention.

Wait, did your friend try the AI thing and it backfired on them? My buddy Mike was super into tracking his focus with one of those apps. He spent like three hours setting it up and tweaking the settings, then a week later he gave up because the timer on his microwave worked just as good. So yeah, a whiteboard sounds way simpler and more reliable to me too.
