My coffee stain on a napkin looked exactly like a famous painting
I tipped over my mug at a diner last Tuesday and the coffee spread across a napkin in this perfect swirl of browns and tans. The waitress even stopped and said it looked like a Van Gogh sky. I snapped a photo and posted it on my Instagram and three people asked if I was a painter. That got me thinking about how we miss real beauty in random messes. Has anyone else caught a spill or stain that looked like intentional art?

It's wild how randomness makes better art than most of us can on purpose.

You're right about randomness making better art. I've had this happen. Best trick is to blot it dry gently with another napkin. Don't rub or it'll turn into a brown blob. Let it air dry for an hour on the counter. Then scan it on a flatbed scanner. You'll lose the paper texture but the shape stays perfect. I've got three saved on my hard drive.
