My coffee machine gave up and left a perfect stain

The old drip machine in our station kitchen finally quit yesterday morning. It didn't just stop, it leaked all over the counter in a big brown puddle. When I went to wipe it up, the pattern it left on the laminate looked exactly like a weird, detailed map of a coastline. I took a picture before cleaning it. It had little inlets and everything. Has anyone else had a mess turn into something interesting to look at?

Right there with you @jade_young88, my first move would be to grab paper towels in a total frenzy. Taking a photo first is a level of calm I just don't have. Some people are built different for sure.
