Dropped $40 on a cracked vase that looked like a masterpiece in the thrift store light
I found this weird cracked ceramic vase at Goodwill last Tuesday. In the store lighting it looked like deliberate raku firing. All those hairline fractures seemed planned. Brought it home and put it on my shelf. Looked like trash in natural light. Just a busted old vase someone dropped. The cracks weren't even pretty. They were just random ugly breaks. Now it sits in my garage because I feel dumb throwing out something I paid for. Anyone else get fooled by thrift store lighting into buying broken junk that only looks accidental-art in the store?

You ever just trust the lighting that hard? Thrift store fluorescents are basically gaslighting in bulb form. I'd say keep it in the garage as a reminder that $40 is still $40 wasted.
