That 2004 flash game site that still has the same high scores

Was digging through old bookmarks last night and stumbled on this flash game site I used in middle school. It's still up, still works in some janky browser emulator, and the leaderboards haven't changed since 2007. I spent 20 minutes trying to beat some kid named 'xX_DarkBlade_Xx' on a balloon popping game and my score is still 300 points behind. Anyone else got a dead site they keep checking to see if it finally died?

Hold on, xX_DarkBlade_Xx? That name unlocked a memory I forgot I had. I swear I saw that exact same username on a tower defense game from like 2005, it's weird how some kids just stuck with that edgy tag forever. You'd think after 17 years someone would have hacked those leaderboards or the site would have been deleted, but no. What game did you play, was it one of those simple flash ones where you just click colored balloons?

Man I've been there. @keithyoung is right about those edgy names sticking around forever, feels like half the internet was xX_something_Xx back then. What worked for me was using the wayback machine to grab the original swf file and run it in a standalone projector, that way the game runs at full speed instead of the janky emulator lag. I finally beat some guy named 'ShadowReaper99' on a snowball fight game after I figured out the timing was off by like 15 frames in the browser version. Did you try checking if the balloon popping game has a specific frame rate it was built for?
