Stumbled on a 2001 blog about raising chickens in Brooklyn

I was looking up coop plans last week and found this blog from a guy named Dave who kept 6 hens in his Bushwick backyard. The last post was from August 2001 talking about how his rooster kept waking the neighbors. I tried emailing the address listed but it bounced back. Has anyone else found old homesteading blogs that are still sitting there untouched?

and honestly that's exactly the kind of blog you want for real advice lol. Those old homesteading blogs from back then are gold because people actually lived it and wrote about the specific problems day by day. I've found a few from like 2004-2005 about chicken keeping in weird urban spots and they're way more useful than the polished youtube tutorials now. The key thing is those coop plans from 20 years ago usually account for real predator pressure and weather changes that a lot of modern guides gloss over. If you can get the wayback machine to pull up that blog, screenshot all the comments too because there's usually someone in the replies who fixed the same issue and shared their fix. I'd still email the old address just in case he checks it once a year or something crazy lol. Worst case you find a similar blog from around that era about keeping ducks or rabbits in tight spaces, the framing lessons carry over pretty close.

Are you actually gonna try to build a coop based on some 20 year old blog?
