I was saving every old site I found to a list, but my browser crashed and I lost it all.

For years, I'd just open a new tab for every cool old GeoCities page or forgotten Angelfire site I found. Last week, I had about 80 tabs open and my browser just gave up. The whole session was gone. That's when it hit me: I was doing it all wrong by not actually saving anything properly. I started using a simple text file to write down the URLs as I go. Has anyone else had a close call like that with their collection?

Eighty tabs open at once?! My laptop would have just shut down and cried! That's a huge collection of old web history to lose in one crash. The text file idea is smart, way more stable than trusting a browser session.

Watched a friend lose about sixty tabs last month when his browser crashed. He had research for a trip, recipes he wanted to try, and a bunch of weird forum threads about fixing old radios. All of it just gone in a second. He spent the next week trying to remember what he'd lost, muttering about some specific bread recipe he'll never find again.
