Thought they seemed spammy, now I see the appeal. Any active guestbook sites?

Guestbooks making a comeback is kinda hilarious. They were just spam pits, now people want them back. Good luck finding any that still work, though.

Honestly I still run an old-school PHP guestbook script on my site that filters bots pretty well. The key is using those simple text verification questions nobody codes for anymore.

People act like guestbooks are some big internet crisis. They're just little boxes on websites, not a life or death thing. If someone wants a spam filled guestbook on their retro site, let them have it. The web is big enough for both slick comment systems and janky old PHP scripts. It's not like we're running out of server space for people's nostalgia projects.
