Fell for a '90s style guestbook script that was actually a data harvester
Lost about $300 in web host fees and a weekend of work setting up that Perl guestbook because my site got flagged for phishing spam within 48 hours, anyone else get burned by trusting old free scripts?

Got burned by a free CGI chatroom back in 2002, woke up to 500 spam emails from my own server. Made me real good at apologising to my shared host real fast.

Oh man, I feel that. Back in 2003 I installed a free guestbook script and woke up to my whole site serving up malware links. Fun times learning what a "honeypot" was.
