Unpopular opinion: That old dial-up screech was music to my ears
I actually MISSED the sound of a 56k modem connecting in 1998. My whole family would groan when I logged on to check my Angelfire email, but that chirping noise meant I was about to explore something new. I learned that slow internet forced me to appreciate every single webpage I visited instead of just scrolling past stuff. Anyone else actually enjoy the wait back then?

Whoa wait, you actually ENJOYED that screeching sound? I can't even wrap my head around that, my ears still cringe thinking about it. That 10 second delay idea is pure evil but it actually makes a weird kind of sense for slowing down your brain.

Oh man, tip from someone who lived it - if you really want that feeling back, try setting a 10 second delay on your browser for every page load. It forces you to actually look at what you opened. Total game changer for cutting down mindless clicking.
