Last week's book club choice was that memoir about addiction. I found it so dramatic, especially the part where he loses his job. But everyone else said it was honest and real. That gap between what I felt and what they said is shocking. It feels like the group pushes for one shared feeling instead of real talk. We need books that let us disagree and learn from each other.
