inMy uncle swore by his paper map trick for finding new hiking spots, but it backfired on me.
Maps don't lie, but landscapes do change. Maybe add a modern satellite check to the old method.

inWarning: I think the push for 'sustainable' fabric blends is creating a lot of weak, pilling garments.
Okay but is it the blend itself, or maybe just a bad fabric from that one mill? (Like, not all cotton is the same quality either, you know?) Sometimes a company will use a cheaper recycled source that makes weaker fibers, and then blame gets put on the whole idea of sustainable blends. It feels like we're throwing the baby out with the bathwater here. Sure, there's greenwashing, but that doesn't mean every single recycled blend is doomed to pill. Maybe the problem is more about chasing the cheapest "eco" option instead of a good one.

inHad to pick between a $2000 combi oven and a new walk-in cooler compressor last month.
Saw a whole thing about this in a trade magazine last month. They said a new oven only helps if your current one is the main thing holding you back. Sometimes the bottleneck is actually your mixer or even your cooling space. You gotta figure out which piece of equipment is slowing you down the most before you drop serious cash. Otherwise you just have a fancy new oven waiting on the same old slow stuff.

inMy old boss in Omaha told me to always dry-age ribeyes for 28 days, not 21, and the extra week makes a crazy difference in flavor.
Yeah, 28 days is the sweet spot...
