Shoutout to my last minute trip blowing my entire monthly budget
I thought booking a flight on sale was smart but forgot about all the extra costs like food and transit.

Yeah I read a blog post that called that the "sale price trap." You get the flight for cheap and then the real cost hits you with the twenty dollar airport sandwiches and the fifty dollar Uber from the airport because the train line is closed for repairs. It all adds up so fast. They suggested literally doubling the flight cost in your budget to cover the random stuff that pops up. Sounds extreme but after my last trip, I get it.
