Man, I feel you on that. Seeing neighbors retire early really lights a fire under you. Index funds are a solid place to start for regular folks. I began by just putting a bit from each paycheck into a total market fund. It's boring but it really does add up over time without you having to stress over it.

Totally, boring is the secret weapon. I do the same thing and just ignore the account most days. Ever think about ramping it up when you get a raise?
