Rant: Feeling guilty about my record collection's plastic waste
I've been buying a ton of new vinyl from indie bands I love, but all the shrink wrap and PVC sleeves are piling up. I want to support the artists, but the environmental impact is starting to bug me. Does anyone know of indie labels or bands using recycled or eco friendly packaging for their records?

Have you asked around at local record stores about greener labels? My friend Nate got really into synthwave vinyl but hated the trash from all the plastic wrap. He finally heard about this small pressing plant in Europe that only uses recycled paper sleeves and plant-based inks. It took him months of digging through forums and bandcamp pages to find artists who used them. Now he looks for that plant's logo on the release details before he buys anything. He says it makes him feel better knowing his hobby isn't creating as much waste.

Actually, I wonder if using those plant-based inks changes how the album art feels in your hands, like if the texture's different. That could be part of the whole experience.

@caleb_owens' talk of plant-based inks actually made me rethink my vinyl habits.
