Showerthought: My brother and I don't tinker in the garage together anymore
Remember when we fixed that old lawnmower, now we just hire someone.

But let's be real, hiring someone saves so much time and stress! We can still bond over other things that don't involve getting dirty and frustrated.

My dad and I spent a whole Saturday trying to get his old truck's carburetor right when I was fifteen. Aaronburns is totally right, it was never about the truck. It's that weird quiet focus where you finally ask the real questions. Honestly, we just don't make time for that kind of slow, frustrating stuff anymore, and it feels like we're missing a piece. Tbh, hiring out every little job gets it done, but it steals those chances to just be stuck together figuring life out.

Last summer, my nephew asked me why his tablet wouldn't charge. It was a simple fix, but it made me remember all the times my dad and I would take apart radios just to see how they worked. That lawnmower job with your brother, it's not really about the machine, you know? It's about those hours where you're both focused on one dumb problem, and you start talking about life stuff without even trying. Hiring someone gets it done fast, but it skips the whole process where you learn patience and how to laugh when you screw up. We're losing those messy, hands-on moments that teach you more than any manual ever could.
