I tried chalk paint on my kitchen table and learned something
It hides scratches but isn't as durable as I hoped.

Olivias88 is right, I used to think chalk paint was tough until my own table got wrecked.

Wow, that's the exact lesson I learned the hard way. It looks so good at first, but then a hot cup or a plate leaves a mark. Didn't you find you absolutely have to seal it with a crazy strong topcoat? And even then, it still feels kind of soft, like it's just waiting to get scratched again. What's the point of painting something you actually use if it can't handle real life?
