Appreciation post: A client in Boise told me my finish looked like 'factory plastic'

Happened last year on a walnut table delivery. He said it right in his driveway, no filter. Made me rethink my whole topcoat process. Anyone else get a harsh comment that actually improved their work?

Sounds brutal but did it actually help or just mess with your head?

Mess with your head" is the whole point sometimes. Like when you're stuck in a loop of bad thoughts, a sharp shock to the system can break the pattern. It's not about feeling good, it's about resetting. A freezing shower or a really hard run forces your brain to deal with just one thing, the here and now. That break from the noise can be what helps.
