Rant: I found this old map site by clicking random links on a library computer

Honestly, I was just killing time at the downtown branch last month and started clicking 'related links' on some local history page. Ended up on this site that just has scanned fire insurance maps from the 1920s. Has anyone else ever found cool stuff just by clicking around like that?

Yeah @quinn_bell, I got lost in that site for hours looking at my old neighborhood. It's wild how much has changed.

Oh man, I know exactly what you mean! I did the same thing last week and found a picture from the 70s of my house before the big trees were even planted. It's so strange to see a place you know so well look totally different. I must have stared at it for twenty minutes, just picking out all the little changes. That site is a real time machine.
