Pro tip: I found a forgotten local history site by checking a library's old web directory.
I was at the downtown library last month looking for info on a closed factory. The librarian pointed me to a binder of old website printouts from the early 2000s. One link, 'Rivertown Stories,' was handwritten in the margin. I typed it in, and the basic HTML site was still up, full of scanned letters and photos you'd never find on a search engine. It was a total goldmine. Has anyone else stumbled on a site like this, just sitting there untouched?

Love finding those forgotten corners of the web.

Most of those corners are just broken links now.

Oh MAN this takes me back! I actually read somewhere that there's this whole hidden web nobody talks about, like sites that never got indexed by Google. It's wild to think about how much STUFF is out there just sitting around waiting to be found. Some of those old forums and personal blogs are like time capsules from the early 2000s. Broken links are part of the charm honestly, it makes you feel like a digital archaeologist or something.
