I used to think the best way to find new music was through streaming radio, but a random CD I bought for 50 cents at a garage sale in Omaha changed that.
I found a band from 2003 that never made it to any algorithm playlist, and now I'm digging through physical media bins again, so where's the best place you've found something great that the internet never showed you?

Found stuff in the weirdest places. People lose things, forget them. Then someone else gets a little piece of a story. Happens all the time if you pay attention.

Check the pockets of old coats at thrift stores, seriously. I found a grocery list from 1998 in one once, and it told a whole little story. You're right, @margaret377, you just have to look for those quiet clues people leave behind. My best find was a faded photo tucked inside a library book.
