A customer at my shop argued that old car forums are better than modern video tutorials
He said, 'The forum guys wrote down every mistake so you don't have to make it.' It hit different because I found a 2003 thread on a random Geo Metro site that solved a weird idle issue my manual missed. Do you think text-based archives from that era are actually more useful than current video guides?

Forums are searchable, videos often aren't.

Yeah that searchable point from @butler.shane is huge. I've wasted so much time scrubbing through a video trying to find one specific tip. With a forum you just search the keyword. You get the answer right there in text. No fast forwarding. No listening to someone talk for five minutes before they get to the point. It's just more efficient for fixing problems fast.
