Found a box of old family photos in a Detroit alley dumpster, all from the 70s.
I was walking home from work and saw this soggy cardboard box next to a dumpster, full of maybe 200 color prints and negatives. I dried them out, and now I have these perfect strangers' vacations and birthday parties from 1975. What do you even do with something like that?

Throw them back out, not your memories.

My brain's a hoarder, it won't let go of anything.

Throw them back out" is a good way to put it. I saw something about how our brains hold onto stuff we actually need to process, not just store. Makes you wonder what we're supposed to do with it all.
