Our 2010 forum collab on a digital mural still brings a smile

I was cleaning out my bookmarks and found a link to an old art forum thread. We all decided to create a digital mural by each adding a small drawing. The best part was seeing how it came together with everyone's unique style. Back then, we used simple paint programs and uploaded images one by one. I remember someone started with a sunset, and others added houses, people, and animals. These days, collaborative art tools are everywhere, but that thread felt like a real community effort. It's a nice memory of how the internet used to be more about sharing creativity.

Oh man, this totally hits home! @the_jana, your comment about it not being cringe is so right. It was just pure fun. I was in a pixel art forum where we built a whole little town square together. One person did the cobblestone ground, another made a flickering street lamp, and I added a little cat sleeping on a bench. Watching it all get put together piece by piece was the coolest feeling. That kind of stuff just felt more real than some apps today.

That's a really cool point about the waiting. @the_jana, the slowness of uploading each piece made it feel more special, like getting mail. You'd check back all day to see if someone added a tree or a little bird. It built real excitement modern apps just can't copy.
