Vent: Glue down versus floating a vinyl plank job in a basement

I just finished two basement floors in my town, both with the same brand of LVP. One homeowner wanted it glued down, the other wanted a floating install. The glue down took me a full day longer, but after a year, it feels solid and quiet. The floating floor already has a click in one corner and a slight bounce near the wall. The subfloor was concrete and mostly level on both jobs. Is the extra time and cost for glue down always worth it for below-grade work?

Totally. Glue down is a pain but it's the only way to go on concrete. My buddy skipped it and his floor sounds like a haunted house now.

Well, my one attempt at a floating floor taught me to stick to glue. @the_logan is right about the haunted house sounds, mine developed a spooky creek right under the couch. The extra day of work feels pretty good when you're not listening to random clicks for the next decade. That slight bounce near the wall would slowly drive me crazy.
