My uncle told me to never use a moisture meter on a slab, just go by feel

Ignored him on a job in Tampa last month and the meter saved us from a $4k glue failure. Anyone else get bad advice from an old-timer that you're glad you didn't take?

Outdated advice" like that will cost you real money, trust your tools over old stories.

Yeah, I had a guy tell me to just listen for the hollow sound when tapping for delamination. Used a meter instead and found a huge section the tapping totally missed. That old school feel stuff doesn't cut it when you're on the hook for a callback.
