I swore by that cheap laminate cutter for years until a big job in Phoenix
It was a 2,000 square foot office install and the blade started slipping halfway through. I lost a full day fixing bad cuts and had to buy a proper manual cutter on site for $350. The client was not happy about the delay either. What manual cutters do you guys trust for heavy commercial work?

That Phoenix job sounds like a tool maintenance issue, not a cheap tool problem. My crew ran a 3,000 sq ft hotel lobby with a basic DeWalt laminate cutter we got on sale. The key is checking the blade lock before every major job and keeping a spare blade on hand. A $350 manual cutter can fail too if you don't take care of it. Sometimes you just get a lemon or overlook a loose part.

My buddy had his blade lock fail on a pricey cutter during a condo job. He switched to a basic model with a metal locking plate and hasn't looked back.
