I finally shot a roll of film my friend said would be a waste

He told me to never use Kodak Gold 200 for indoor portraits, but I tried it in my living room last month and loved the warm grain it gave my grandma's face. Anyone else get surprisingly good results from 'wrong' film for a situation?

Rules are made to be broken with film.

Nah, you gotta know the rules before you break them. Look at someone like Wes Anderson. His symmetrical shots and color palettes are super strict, but that's what makes his style work. Just breaking rules for the sake of it gives you a messy movie, not a good one. You need that solid base first.
