Changed my mind on using a skid steer for every vinyl job after a nightmare week in July

What kind of mess did you get into that made you change your mind? I had a buddy burn up a transmission on his because he was using it for every single tear out, and the repair bill was insane. Sometimes the old school hand tools or a smaller machine are just faster when you factor in setup time. What was the final straw for your bad week?

But that's exactly why you run a skid steer into the ground on every job. My machine is paid for by the work it does, not sitting on a trailer. Sure, @emery18's buddy had a big repair, but that's just maintenance cost spread out over hundreds of jobs. The time I save moving heavy material and prepping ground pays for that transmission ten times over. Hand tools might seem faster for a tiny bathroom, but for any real square footage, the machine is the only way to make real money. A bad week in July sounds like an operator problem, not an equipment problem.
