That one week in February where every horse had a foot like concrete

I swear, for five days straight, every single client in the county seemed to have a horse that hadn't been trimmed in over six months. The worst was a big Percheron cross out near Millerton, his feet were so overgrown I had to switch from my nippers to the hoof knife halfway through just to find the sole. My anvil was ringing nonstop, and my back felt it. Has anyone else had a run of horses that just test every tool in your truck?

That Percheron cross sounds like a real project. I had a week last fall where three different clients swore their horses were done "just last month", but the hoof walls were curling up like elf shoes. My rasp was basically a smoothing stone by Friday, and I think I still have bits of that super hard, dry hoof material in my truck's cup holders. You start to wonder if there's a secret club where they all agree to test your patience at once.

Try a diamond rasp next time, @shah.matthew, that hard hoof stuff can't beat it.
