My cashier at the grocery store was a dead ringer for a young Tom Hanks

I was checking out at the Piggly Wiggly in my town last Tuesday and the guy bagging my groceries looked exactly like Tom Hanks from Big. Same smile and everything. I almost asked him if he could do that dance on the giant piano but held back. My girlfriend saw him too and swore it was his doppelganger. Has anyone else spotted a random Tom Hanks lookalike in the wild? It was uncanny and I should have snapped a pic.

Used to think doppelgangers were fake, then my neighbor turned out to be Ryan Reynolds.

Is it just me or does this kind of thing happen way more often than people admit? I feel like the universe has a weird sense of humor with look-alikes. Like I swear my third grade teacher was a dead ringer for Steve Buscemi, and my old landlord looked exactly like a less famous version of Bob Odenkirk. It's almost like there's a limited pool of faces and the rest of us are just getting recycled versions, you know? I mean, maybe it's just confirmation bias but once you start noticing it, it's everywhere.
