PSA: I spent 5 years leveling elevators wrong in Denver

I always adjusted the floor stops by ear until a mechanic from Otis told me to actually check the sill gap with a feeler gauge. Found out my cars were sitting 1/8 inch off on half my jobs. Has anyone else had a basic habit they discovered was totally off from a random coworker?

Kept doing that exact same thing for years before someone told me to check the gap.
