Noticing more fear around aftermarket parts. I think it's silly.

I see posts warning about fake components. But in my shop, we use them daily. For example, replacing laptop DC jacks. Aftermarket ones last just as long. Cost half the price. Customers appreciate the savings. Never had a major failure from it.

Okay but have you seen some of the knockoff phone batteries? They puff up after a few months. Not all aftermarket stuff is equal, some can cause real damage. Like cheap power supplies that fry motherboards. Maybe for simple parts it's fine, but I'd be careful with anything critical. Heard too many stories about fires from bad chargers.
