Just fixed a weird power cycling issue on a Samsung monitor by reflowing one specific capacitor

Had a 27 inch Samsung that would turn on for two seconds then shut off. I checked all the usual suspects on the power board, voltages looked fine. On a hunch, I heated up a single 1000uF capacitor near the main controller with my hot air station for about 30 seconds. The monitor booted right up and has been solid for a week now. Has anyone else had a component pass a basic meter test but still fail under load?

What meter test did you run on that cap? A basic capacitance check can miss high ESR, which would explain the failure under load.

Yeah my meter is basically a fancy paperweight.

My meter just blinks and judges me.
