Flickering tablet screen has me stumped after a basic repair
I'm trying to fix an old tablet where the screen keeps flickering. I opened it up and made sure the ribbon cable was connected tight, but no luck. I've even tried a different battery in case it was power related, but the problem persists. Does anyone have ideas on what else to check before I give up?

Mentioned cleaning the connector pins with isopropyl alcohol. Did you check the ribbon cable for any physical damage, like small tears or bent pins? A close look under a bright light can reveal issues you might miss. Also, make sure the connector area was completely dry after cleaning before you plugged it back in.

Had the same flickering nightmare with an old galaxy tab. What finally fixed it was carefully cleaning the actual connector pins on the board (not just the cable) with a tiny bit of isopropyl alcohol on a q-tip. A tiny bit of corrosion or dust in there can cause havoc. Reseated the cable a bunch after that, and somehow the third try it just decided to work, go figure.
