I know everyone swears by the 6-inch knife for taping, but my 10-inch gave me a flatter finish on a long ceiling seam.

Used it on a 16-foot run in a Bakersville remodel last month and the extra length cut down on ridges. Anyone else find a bigger tool works better for certain joints?

Yeah I saw a video where a guy said the same thing. He argued a longer knife bridges small humps in the drywall better. Makes sense if you're working with a less than perfect hang.

That part about bridging the humps. It's like that with so many things. The right tool just handles the problem area without you fighting it. A wider paint roller covers wall flaws faster too. Same idea. Bigger tool smooths over the small stuff so you can focus on the big picture. You see it everywhere once you start looking.

My first year I only used a 6-inch knife. That video made me try a 12-inch for the second coat and it's a total game changer. It really does hide those little bumps way better.
