I used to think hand drafting was a waste of time for small jobs

Last month, I was doing a quick site plan for a backyard shed in Redmond and my laptop battery died right as I was finishing. No charger, no cloud save. I grabbed a pad and my old drafting tools from my truck and sketched the whole thing out in about twenty minutes. The client loved seeing the sketch right there and signed off on it. Now I keep a basic kit in my bag. Anyone else have a go-to manual backup for tech fails?

My truck's glove box has saved more jobs than my laptop ever will.

That "saved more jobs" line hits different when you think about the actual stuff in there. Like a random receipt from three years ago that proves you bought the part they said you didn't. The glove box is a time capsule of proof.
