I had a major layer management mess on a big commercial plan set

I was working on a set of drawings for a new office building in Tacoma. I accidentally merged the electrical and plumbing layers into one, about 30 minutes before the deadline. I had to go back to a two-hour-old backup file and redo the last bit of work. It was a close call. Has anyone else had a layer nightmare that almost cost them a deadline?

Naming files like that is a total mess. You end up with ten copies and no clue which is the real one. Just use dates or version numbers. My buddy lost a whole project because he couldn't find the right "final" file. Why make more work for yourself?
