Unpopular opinion: That old Geocities site about raising chickens saved my flock
Everyone told me to ignore those janky 90s homesteading pages, but a broken link on one led me to a PDF from a retired vet who knew exactly how to treat sour crop with garlic oil. Has anyone else found real gold buried in those ancient, ugly sidebars?

My buddy down the road had his whole flock wiped out by some respiratory thing a few years back. He tried everything from the feed store and the vet bills were through the roof. One night he was digging through the Wayback Machine looking for old chicken forums from 2002, and he found this huge text file posted by some guy named "FowlMaster99." It was all just plain text, no formatting, but it had this whole detailed protocol for treating with crushed garlic and apple cider vinegar in the water. He tried it on his last sick hen and she pulled through in three days. The vet later said that particular strain was resistant to all the standard antibiotics they'd been handing out. Now he keeps that file on a USB drive and prints copies for anyone in the local poultry club. Those old pages look terrible and the links are broken half the time, but there's real knowledge in there from people who actually lived with the birds.
